Reader 2 Asks,
How to get over a breakup?
Dear Reader 2,
Ouch! Break-ups are the worst. Unfortunately, there is no cure for breakups. Wouldn’t we all wish for a break-up cure. Sometimes moping in your PJ’s and eating out of a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream isn’t enough. But don’t stress, there are ways to cope with break-ups:
-
Write a letter. Write all the emotions you are experiencing down. When you’re done, destroy the letter. Letting out all those tangled up emotions will make you feel better.
-
Talk it out with a close friend. It's an easy way to blow off some steam and have a friend assure you that its going to be okay.
-
Try to surround yourself with a group of friends. It may sound absolutely absurd to surround yourself with people when you just want be left alone but that's why you have to remember that surrounding yourself with friends will make you realize that there are people who truly care about you.
-
As cheesy and corny as it sounds, always remember that there are more fish in the sea. Consider your breakup as a growing-up experience.
- Best of luck, Birdy
Reader 3 Asks,
Any advice on note-taking?
Dear Reader 3,
There are many reliable websites online that deal with note-taking tips, tricks, and tools. Here are some tips that are really helpful:
-
Abbreviate. These shortcuts help you jot down all the information quickly and correctly.
-
Be prepared. Carry with you pens, pencils, and highlighters to help keep your notes organized.
-
Adopt a color-coding system. If you feel that you’re a visual learner, then this is the solution for you. This system keeps your notes organized and makes them easier to understand.
-
Review. Make sure all your notes are accurate. Write down any explanations you feel that you might need later.
-
Go old-school with the Cornell note-taking system! Draw two columns on your paper, the left side should be narrower than the right side. The note-taking goes on the right-side.
- Best of luck, Birdy
Reader 4 Asks,
How to prevent bullying?
Dear Reader 4,
Bullying is horrible and often leads to devastating and unfortunate situations. If you or your friend are in a type of bullying situation its best to immediately go to a trusted adult or authority figure. Sometimes it might seem like going to an adult will only stir up more trouble but truthfully it's best to leave the matter to a responsible adult whose interest in heart is to help you.
Avoid conflict as best as you can and always keep in mind that you’re beautiful and there are many people out there who truly care for you. Stay brave and tough for one day it will all be over.
- Best of luck, Birdy
